50%

Fill factor = lit LED area vs. pitch cell. SMD ≈ 40–55%, GOB/COB ≈ 70–90%. Drives the inter-pixel gap only — mean brightness is held constant, as on a calibrated wall.

100%

Quantisation happens in the signal domain, as a real processor does — which is why it shows up as posterisation near black. Driving the wall dim costs you greyscale: at 20% brightness an 8-bit chain has barely 6 bits left, and that is what bands your dark grades.

Signal chain & panels

The wall is fed from a processor output. If that feed is smaller than the wall's native grid, the wall is being upscaled and its real ceiling is the feed, not the panel count — the most common gap between the spec sold and the picture delivered.

0%

Cabinet-to-cabinet brightness spread. Mixed rental stock runs a few percent; large flat gradients in a grade are what reveal it on the floor.

Screen array

across
m

One canvas mapped across several physical screens — main plus IMAG sides, or a row of pillars. The gaps are real: whatever falls into them is not shown at all. Each screen keeps its own cabinet grid.

Build plan

A guide at the wall's exact native resolution: cabinet grid, centre marks, safe area and the numbers stamped on it. Drop it into your comp as a reference layer.

Light & angle

nits
lux

0°

Luminance rolloff off-axis, using a typical SMD curve — real panels vary, so treat it as indicative. Booth audiences commonly sit at 45–60°.

Eye-match scales the wall so its angular size on your monitor equals the real wall's at the viewer distance — what you see is what the audience sees. Scroll to zoom, drag to pan.

Legibility measure

Drag a box over a cap-height letter or the thinnest element that must read. Verdict uses wall-pixel count and angular height in arcminutes.

Monitor calibration

Opens over the canvas so the card can reach its true size at any sidebar width. You can also drag the sidebar's right edge.

Export

Bakes in wall size, pitch, distance and native resolution as a caption strip — drop straight into a client deck.

Monitor calibration

Hold a real credit card against the screen and drag until the box matches it exactly (ISO/IEC 7810 ID-1: 85.60 × 53.98 mm). Then set how far your eye is from the monitor. Until this is done, 1:1 and eye-match are guesses — everything else is unaffected.

SQUINT downsamples your content to the wall's real native grid, draws the physical LED gap, then filters it through the eye's 1-arcminute acuity limit at the viewer distance you set. Nothing leaves this machine.
